A new Service Engineer Apprentice scheme for Daikin has attracted over 200 applications in a week since launch. The quality of applications has been excellent and demonstrates the benefits or working with a recruitment partner with expertise in social recruiting for early careers.
ResourceBank was appointed as RPO to Daikin UK in 2022 and has recruited over 300 members of staff for the eco-heating technology leader.
Launched in 2024 , the apprenticeship scheme is needed to develop and train service engineers for heat-pumps and other innovative technology products to help reduce the environmental impact of heating and cooling. Due to the expansion of its installed product base, Daikin has an ongoing demand for skilled service engineers.
The ResourceBank Daikin recruitment team has devised a multi-media advertising campaign to attract candidates for the apprenticeships in three UK locations. The campaign utilises:
- Dedicated apprenticeship page on the Daikin careers website
- Advertising on job-boards and social media#
- Video screening utlising a bespoke interview platform
- Follow-up calls
The response to date has been very positive from both candidates and Daikin management.
Ed Longhust, Team Leader of the ResourceBank Daikin team said:
As of this morning we have had 203 applicants and of those, 151 have been invited to the video interview stage. The number and quality of applicants is a true testament to the reputation of Daikin in the industry. The applicants want to start their career journey with an organisation that takes pride in uncovering, developing and championing the next wave of the UK’s talented Engineers.”
