Affinity Trust is a charity that supports people with learning disabilities. The charity has over 2,000 employees across over 200 locations throughout England and Scotland.
The information from the exit interviews has been invaluable in helping us develop our new people strategy. The completion rate is excellent and the quarterly reports identify clear recommendations for us to action. The ResourceBank account manager Keri is absolutely wonderful. She is flexible, proactive and will jump on a call really quickly. I could not sing her praises enough. I really recommend Keri and Resource Bank to anyone waiting to improve employee retention.
Affinity Trust offers various services including supported living, community-based support, children and young people services and residential support. Like many in the health and social care sector, Affinity suffered from high staff attrition. Their in-house exit interview system had a low completion rate (around 10%) which limited their understanding of why employees were leaving.
This led to the decision to outsource exit interviews to Resource Bank.
600% Improvement in Completion Rate.
Having provided a demo of the service, the ResourceBank Engage team implemented a blended online and telephone interview service utilising a bespoke script developed with the Affinity Trust HR department. Results were reported quarterly, and questions tweaked to identify the impact of key issues.
Within 2 quarters, completion rates had increased six-fold to 61% and the reports identified that, while pay was a factor, there were numerous other reasons for staff leaving that could be addressed.
Improvements to L&D, benefits and People strategy.
The data from the exit interviews has identified improvement in learning and development, policies, and procedures.
The organization is revamping its management training program, and exploring different delivery methods (face-to-face, e-learning, blended). A benefits review has also been conducted, introducing initiatives like a cycle-to-work scheme.
It has provided valuable data to support the development of a new people strategy which is now being introduced and early signs are that this will significantly improve engagement, reduce attrition, and save significant costs in new staff recruitment.
