Why were our Kickstart Ambassador Anna Brett and one of our very own amazing Kickstarter’s Ben Cartwright spending time at a service station on the M6 this week? We’ll let Anna explain….
“Ben and I visited Norton Canes Roadchef motorway services today on the M6 Toll. Roadchef have secured government funding for 44 Kickstart placements and ResourceBank is supporting them with their recruitment of Kickstart participants.
We spent an enjoyable few hours gaining an insight into their business, having a site tour (which included a lovely lunch at Leon) and understanding the benefits of working for Roadchef.
Roadchef have created a brand new role of Customer Service Host especially for Kickstart and hope that via the scheme they will be able to support young people who are at risk of long term unemployment get back to work in an interesting, inclusive and interesting environment.
We were particularly impressed with how team members are encouraged to share their ideas, take ownership of problems as well as how the business supports them with creating an innovative unique working environment.”
