Meet Lia Welch, our very own RB Recruitment Partner based directly at the Imerys HQ in seaside Cornwall. Her role is to coordinate recruitment activity for Imerys UK.

Finding Alfie – A Success Story:
Finding Alfie is one of my favourite recruitment stories. (Even though every hired candidate is a success story.) Having worked at a local supermarket for 6 years, Alfie has always had a passion for science. He applied for a lab technician role at Imerys. I could see how he might be easily overlooked because of his lack of experience. However, whenever I spoke to him his passion and knowledge in science was palpable. He just lacked the opportunity. Even though his application came through late in the process for the role he applied for, I knew he would be a brilliant hire. I put him forward for a couple of roles. Of course, both hiring managers offered him a position! He was an excellent hire and by the way so was, subsequently his dad. Sometimes you need to read between the lines of a CV to find the gems.
