ResourceBank took over the management of the graduate programme for DHL Global Forwarding and significantly increased candidate quality and satisfaction. DHL, the world’s largest logistics company, operates in over 220 countries and territories, employing a global workforce of more than 594,000 people. In the UK, DHL Global Forwarding has a strong presence, with approximately 1,200 employees across 16 offices, including its Head Office in Chertsey.

“Working with Resource Bank for our Graduate scheme was seamless. The team is professional, thorough and super organised. Even with a short lead time to deliver candidates for our Assessment Centre the number of excellent candidates who fully met the brief requirements was outstanding. I would highly recommend utilising ResourceBank for Graduate recruitment as I have not had a better service from any supplier.”

What were the challenges?

The incumbent recruitment partner was struggling to attract the calibre of graduate candidates that DHL Global Forwarding wanted. The company’s stringent security requirements made the resourcing process particularly challenging.

What was our solution?

Because of our track record with DHL on other recruitment projects, our knowledge of early careers and our experience of operating high-security recruitment processes, ResourceBank was appointed graduate recruitment partner to DHL Global Forwarding in 2023.

The Results

In 2023, we achieved significant success and were re-appointed to run the program again in 2024. Over these two years, we recruited eight talented graduates to become the future generation of DHL management. Our recruitment efforts were extensive, with 1,400 applications received and reviewed, leading to 122 phone interviews. From there, 30 candidates were invited to assessment days, and ultimately, eight accepted offers. Throughout the process, we saw a marked improvement in candidate quality, along with excellent feedback from both candidates and hiring managers. Notably, we also met our diversity targets, underscoring our commitment to an inclusive and forward-thinking approach in our hiring.
