Hands up who likes the term RPO?
Here at ResourceBank we have never been keen on the term RPO, (Recruitment Process Outsourcing), although 90% of what we do is termed ‘RPO’. We like to think we are different, we all say that, but I think we have genuine proof that we are very different from other providers. You may be interested to know we hold the world record for the longest continual RPO partnership which is currently 16 + years with World Duty Free! It is hard to imagine that sort of longevity in most recruitment partnerships.
How do we do it differently and how can we justify a world record and the audacity to try and change a well-established sector moniker? Simply, we are different and can prove it – just ask our clients. We want to replace the word ‘process’ with ‘partnership’.
Partnership is often an overused word, but it best represents the relationship we have with our clients, and we feel it must be included in our descriptive label. In any successful partnership there is compromise, flexibility, mutual respect and ultimately success if all the moving parts act in harmony. If we’re honest recruitment is not always harmonious, but the length of our partnerships indicates it is most of the time 
Having gotten that off my chest, after 15 years of using the term RPO – we don’t like it! What do we like? We prefer the term ‘resourcing’ as it refers to a more holistic approach not just finding people but being aware of how they fit and impact an organisation. Resourcing Partnership sounds much better, but modesty prevents me from me from just using my initials!
So yes, you guessed it we’ve coined the term ORP – Outsourced, Resourcing, Partnerships and please don’t be concerned about the outsourced bit our partnerships are the nearest to insourced you will find.
