January at ResourceBank: A Month Focused on Community and Wellbeing

January at ResourceBank set the tone for our 30th year, with a strong focus on community, wellbeing and positive impact through charitable giving, team challenges and meaningful engagement.

January can be a challenging month for many, which is why at ResourceBank we’ve chosen to begin the year with a clear focus on community, connection and positive impact. It’s been about supporting causes that matter, bringing people together and reinforcing our commitment to wellbeing across everything we do.

Supporting Client-Nominated Charities

Our year began with a charity initiative linked to our 2025 Christmas cards, where we invited clients and contacts to nominate charities close to their hearts. The response was fantastic.

In total, 12 charities were nominated, reflecting a wide range of causes spanning health, wellbeing, children, animals and local community support. As part of our anniversary celebrations, £30 was donated to each nominated charity, allowing us to give back in a way shaped directly by the people we work with.

Turning Blue Monday into Something Positive

Midway through the month, the ResourceBank team came together to mark Blue Monday with our annual charity challenge – a long-standing tradition focused on wellbeing, teamwork and fundraising.

This year’s challenge saw the team swap laptops for dartboards, aiming to score 120,000 points, matching the number of placements ResourceBank has made over the years. The target was reached with 45 minutes to spare, and thanks to 30 bullseyes, £1,500 was raised for Action Medical Research.

Alongside the fundraising, the day was filled with friendly competition, fancy dress and plenty of laughter, a reminder that shared experiences can make a real difference during times that can feel difficult for many.

Engagement, Wellbeing and Listening

Our January community focus also reflects a wider theme that runs through ResourceBank’s engagement services. Supporting wellbeing isn’t just about one-off moments.  It’s about listening, understanding and taking action.

Through our engagement solutions, we help organisations gather meaningful insight around areas such as morale, wellbeing and mental health, enabling them to identify issues early and create more supportive, inclusive working environments.

Community Beyond January

While January has set the tone, our focus on community runs throughout the year. At ResourceBank, this includes regular social and wellbeing events, ongoing fundraising for charitable causes, and a volunteering day for every member of staff, giving everyone the opportunity to support causes that matter to them personally.

Later this year, we’ll also be celebrating the 5th anniversary of the ResourceBank school in Nepal – a project that continues to play an important role in our wider commitment to education, opportunity and long-term community impact. We’ll be sharing more about this milestone in a dedicated feature closer to the time.

Looking Ahead in our 30th Year

As our 30th anniversary celebrations continue into 2026, January has provided a strong reminder of what matters most to us; people, partnership and positive impact.

We’re proud of how the year has started and look forward to building on this community focus in the months ahead.
